The TARDIS

The TARDIS is at the north-east park gate. If you are passing by and see it open, please stop and say hello.

Bird life

You can always see some birds on the loch, and in the woods too. Dozens of species have been spotted here.

James Tytler's balloon

The first ever hot air balloon flight in Britain was made by James Tytler in 1784, flying right over Lochend.

The Doocot

The Doocot dates from the 16th century, and belonged to Lochend Castle.

Winter time

Lochend Park has plenty of attractions all year round, even when the loch has frozen. In olden times it was a popular place for curling in the winter.
